**Rashtriya Mahila Kosh which was established in the year 1993 by Indian Government is the program which meets the credit needs of poor women.** It is an autonomous body which is governed by the Ministry of Women & Child Development and was registered under the Society Registration Act 1860.

The **primary aim of Government behind this program was to provide credit available for the lower income women.** In simple words, it’s a program which provides financial support to backward and the forward support linkages to women. \
**This program also provides finance and credits to women who are in the informal sectors through the medium of clients and that too in a hassle way.**
