Alexander or Alexander the Great (356 BC to 323 BC) was the Greek ruler of [**Macedonia**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macedonia), (Macedonia).

He has been considered one of the skilled and famous commanders in history. By his death, he had won about half of all the land, which the ancient Greeks knew about (the truth is that he had won only 5 percent of the earth. The most important role in stopping his conquering chariot was that of King Puru of India (whom the historians have referred to Porus) and the territorial chieftains of India, who aroused his courage in India on the strength of his might in Alexander's army. Defeated and forced him to return from India. \
Although he was the king of ancient Macedonia for less than 13 years, Alexander the Great changed the course of history forever. One of the greatest military generals in the world, he created a vast empire that stretched from Macedonia to Egypt. This even allowed the Hellenistic culture to become widespread. Alexander the Great wanted to conquer the world but his will was unfinished and this inspired conquerors like Cengiz Khan, Saladin, Federick Barbarossa, Ashoka and Harshavardhan.
