The **Red Fort of Lal Qila of Delhi was built by the fifth [Mughal Emperor](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/39785/the-last-mughal-emperor-was) “Shah Jahan” in 1648** as the palace of his fortified capital Shahjahanabad (Delhi).
