**The Government of India** (**GoI**), the **Government of Tamil Nadu** and the **World Bank** (**WB**) has marked a **$318 million** credit agreement for the **Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project** to advance climate resilient horticulture technologies, enhance water management practices, and increment advertising opportunities for small and peripheral ranchers. Around **500,000 farmers**, of which greater parts are little and peripheral, are required to profit by enhanced and modernized tank irrigation system. The undertaking will restore and modernize around 4,800 water irrigation system and **477 check dams**, spread crosswise over 66 sub-basins, in conveying mass water to an irrigation system. **The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development** (**IBRD**) has issued a **loan amount of $318** for a tenure of **5-years** including **19 years of maturity**.
