**“Delhi” is the only [Union Territory](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/34021/in-india-which-state-or-union-territory-has-french-as-an-official-language) having its own High Court. Delhi, which is also known as the National Capital Territory of [Delhi](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/46502/what-is-the-fee-structure-at-delhi-public-school-durg) is the only Union Territory, which has its own high court.**

Whereas the **other six Union Territories are concerned, they share their jurisdiction with one of their neighboring State**. Chandigarh near to Delhi, is also a Union Territory, having its judicial house in the State of Punjab and Haryana [High Court](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32049/which-is-the-oldest-high-court-in-india). Different State laws are bounded over with the jurisdiction of their courts. Each state is divided into different **judicial districts which are presided over by a district and sessions judge**. These are the principal civil court of the originally formed jurisdiction and can sentence all offenses including those were punishable with death. These are the highest judicial authorities of a district. Below that post, states hold the courts of civil jurisdiction, which consists of sub-judges, civil judges and the similar like this.
