**Tehri dam** located in Uttarakhand, **India ranks on top of the list highest power-generating dam in India.** Tehri Dam & HPP (1000 MW) includes **a 260.5 M high Earth & Rockfill dam** that is one of the best dams of its kind within the world, a waste weir System designed for PMF of 15540 cumecs and a drop of 220m, having one Chute waste weir and 4 Shaft Spillways And an underground Power House housing four Turbine/ Generator sets of 250 MW every, designed to work with a head variation of 90m.
