**A counter question to you who don’t have haters?** There are **billions** of [people](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2295/more-people-need-to-monitor-this-crucial-metric-for-heart-health) in the [world](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2334/what-would-occur-if-the-world-were-to-divide-in-half) and only in **[India](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/336618/top-10-electric-bicycles-in-india-in-2024-to-improve-your-health)** there are more than **1.2 billion.** It’s very obvious that **thinking and [perception](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/300933/what-is-perception-in-psychology)** of each and every person are **never going to match.** It really doesn’t matter how [rich](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/422/what-is-the-ria-rich-internet-application) a person was publically or how **great figure** he was to a nation. ![Why do some people hate Mahatma Gandhi?](https://answers.mindstick.com/questionanswer/01f32a65-3003-4108-a65d-1b5ff8b7b97e/images/45fd3dfc-4900-4da3-be48-a48f4e362f3c.png)\
It’s true that there are numerous of people who don’t think the same way about **Mahatma Gandhi** the way we do. In our history textbooks, **Gandhi Ji is projected** as some sort of god who **liberated India** from the British. According to official history narratives, proper **Independence** movement started and ended with Gandhi. His **wane in influence** is never taken into account. Yes, it is true that in the 1920s and up to **Civil Disobedience** Movement, Gandhi was the most popular leader. However, he soon started losing his popularity.\
This **brainwashing continued** throughout the 20th century. However, with the advent of the Internet, people have access to the **truth** at the click of a mouse. They see Gandhi for the person he is a contributor to India’s freedom movement just like **Subash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Ambedkar, Rabindranath Tagore, Jinnah(not to us Indians, but to Pakistanis at least).** ![Why do some people hate Mahatma Gandhi?](https://answers.mindstick.com/questionanswer/01f32a65-3003-4108-a65d-1b5ff8b7b97e/images/29f88a68-917e-4884-a7b0-d868d30e10be.png)\
People are just [against](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2526/resolution-against-anti-satellite-tests-adopted-by-un-to-reduce-space-debris) the extra importance given to Gandhi. Most of us respect him. We just want a fairer official narrative of [history](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2422/in-testing-on-windows-the-whatsapp-desktop-call-history-tab-was-discovered) and not an emotional one propagated in 1948. The biggest reason for which he is disliked is India and Pakistan partition tragedy. Most of the people didn’t want a partition. It’s disheartening that most of the issues which occur in our [country](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2337/vikram-s-the-country-s-first-privately-developed-rocket-will-launch-on-november-15) are just because of that partition.\
Although **he was a great figure a nation could ever have** and contributed and **sacrificed** the most for the freedom of our country and that’s what truth is, people will always be talking positive and negative about him that can’t be stopped. He will always be **praised** for the type of person he was.\
**An eye for an eye will make the [whole world](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/80964/whole-world-is-under-lockdown-but-china-opens-it-s-wet-markets) blind- Mahatma Gandhi****"So stay positive and spread positivity"**
