Applying for a passport is not hectic activity as it was earlier for so many people. you can go through mentioned below  steps and apply for a passport.
Visit to passport seva online page and register there.
and Then go on to the Passport Seva Online Portal with previous registration id.
and Tap or click on the “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport" link.
and Complete and fill all the details which are asked in the form carefully.
Tap or click "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment.
and For booking appointment which is generally for verification can be paid online.
Transaction could be done through the mentioned below methods:
Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)
Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks and Other Banks)
SBI Bank Challan
You can take a print out of it.
At last visit to scheduled place where the appointment has to be done with all your documents which are original.
