# How Does the DLS Method Set a Revised Cricket Target After Rain?

I understand the basic idea that a rain interruption changes the number of overs available, but I still find it hard to follow how the target is worked out. In a one-day match, two teams might lose different amounts of batting time, and the revised target can look unintuitive from the stands.

When the officials announce a **revised cricket target**, what match resources are being compared? Does the calculation account for wickets already lost as well as overs remaining, and why can two interruptions of the same length lead to different targets?
