# Why Does Perplexity Sometimes Cite a Page That Doesn’t Support Its Claim?

I’ve seen Perplexity attach a source to an answer, then checked the linked page and couldn’t find the specific claim there. The page may be relevant to the subject, but relevance isn’t quite the same as evidence for that sentence.

Is this usually a problem with how the system interprets a source, a mismatch between the answer and the citation, or something about the page changing over time? What’s a sensible way to verify **citation accuracy** before relying on an answer?
