# Why Do Google Ads and Analytics Report Different Conversion Counts?

I’m comparing campaign results in Google Ads and Google Analytics, and the conversion totals don’t match. The gap is large enough to change how I judge a campaign, not just a minor rounding difference.

Could this come down to different [attribution models](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/86233/ga4-has-removed-4-attribution-models-and-introduced-custom-metrics), conversion windows, or the way each platform records a conversion? I’d also like to know which number is more useful when deciding whether to change bids or pause an ad group.
