# Should Writers Tell Readers When an Article Was Drafted With AI?

I’m curious how other writers handle disclosure when AI has helped with a first draft, an outline, or a round of editing. The final article may be fact-checked and substantially rewritten by a person, so “written by AI” doesn’t always describe the process very well.

Do you think disclosure should depend on how much AI contributed, the publication’s policy, or the kind of content being published? I’m interested in what feels transparent to readers without turning every minor editing assist into a disclaimer.
