# Why Do Injection-Molded Plastic Parts Warp After Cooling?

We’re seeing some injection-molded parts come out dimensionally acceptable and then bow or twist as they cool. The distortion isn’t identical from run to run, which makes it hard to tell whether the main issue is the part design, uneven cooling, or a process setting.

For people troubleshooting this on a production line, which measurements or process records are most useful to compare first? I’d also like to know how much the resin grade and wall-thickness changes can contribute to warping.
