# Why Does Grok Sometimes Miss Earlier Posts When Summarizing an X Thread?

When I ask Grok to summarize a long thread on X, it sometimes focuses on the newest replies and leaves out a key point from the original post. Opening the thread myself, I can see the missing context, but the summary reads as if that part was never there.

Is Grok working from the entire thread, or can replies, quoted posts, and hidden or deleted posts affect what it sees? I’m curious whether there’s a reliable way to ask for a thread summary that accounts for the original post as well as the discussion underneath it.
