# Can Poor Sleep Cause Overnight Spikes on a Continuous Glucose Monitor?

My continuous glucose monitor has shown a few overnight rises after nights when I slept badly. The readings usually come back down by morning, and I’m unsure whether they reflect a real change or something about the sensor or the way I was sleeping.

Has anyone compared this with a finger-stick reading or discussed the pattern with a clinician? I’m interested in what context is useful to track—sleep, late meals, sensor age, or something else—before treating a handful of overnight readings as meaningful.
