# Why Does My Phone Show 5G but Still Have Slow Internet?

My phone often shows a **5G signal indicator**, but pages take ages to load and video calls keep freezing. The same SIM seems faster in other places, so I’m not sure whether this is a weak connection, network congestion, or something in my phone’s settings.

What would you check first to figure out why the **mobile data speed** doesn’t match the 5G icon? I’m especially curious whether signal bars tell us anything useful about actual data performance.
