# Why Does Microsoft Teams Keep Showing Me as Away While I’m Working?

Teams often marks me as Away even when I’m at my desk and actively working. It’s especially confusing during long calls or when I’m reading documents without touching the keyboard.

Could this be caused by the desktop app going idle, a device sleep setting, or a status duration that I set earlier? I’d also like to know whether Teams presence status is calculated differently when I use the web app instead of the desktop app. What should I check first?
