# How Does the DLS Method Decide a Cricket Target After a Rain Delay?

I understand that the DLS method adjusts a target when rain reduces the overs available, but I find the revised score hard to make sense of during a match. Is the calculation mainly about overs remaining, wickets in hand, or both?

For example, if a team loses several wickets before a long interruption, how does that affect the target compared with a team that has wickets left? I’d appreciate a plain-language explanation of how a **rain-adjusted cricket target** is worked out.
