# Why Does X Keep Showing an Old Image in My Link Preview?

I updated the image and description on a page, and the new version appears correctly when I share the link in a few other places. On X, though, the post preview still uses the old image.

I’ve checked that the page itself is updated and that its social metadata points to the new image. Does X hold on to a cached **[link preview](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/117662/why-is-my-facebook-link-preview-still-showing-an-old-image)**, or could something else be making it reuse the earlier card?

If you’ve refreshed an X preview successfully, what did you check first?
