# Why Did My Search Impressions Rise but Clicks Fall After I Changed a Page Title?

I updated the title tag on a few pages to make them clearer, and Search Console now shows more impressions but fewer clicks. The pages’ average positions have not changed much, so I’m unsure whether the new wording is appearing for a wider range of searches or simply attracting fewer people.

How do you tell whether this is a normal shift in the queries being shown, a less compelling search result, or a sign that the title no longer matches what visitors expect?
