# How Do Editors Keep AI-Assisted Articles From Sounding Generic?

When I use an AI tool to help with a first draft, the result can be grammatically clean but still feel like it could belong to any website. I’m trying to figure out which parts of the editing process make the biggest difference without turning every piece into a full rewrite.

Do you focus on adding firsthand details, changing the structure, checking claims, or something else? I’d be interested in examples of edits that made AI-assisted drafts sound more specific and genuinely useful to readers.
