# Why Does My Python Script Use a Different Date in GitHub Actions?

A date-based Python script behaves as expected on my laptop but produces a different day when it runs in GitHub Actions. It compares today’s date with a cutoff and decides which report to build, so the mismatch is causing the wrong report to run around midnight.

Could the runner’s timezone be different from my computer’s, or might the date be coming from a dependency or environment variable? I’d like to understand what to check before changing the comparison logic. Has anyone run into a similar **timezone mismatch in GitHub Actions**?
