# How Do Reddit Moderators Decide Whether Crossposting Counts as Spam?

I’m trying to share a useful post with a second subreddit, but I don’t want it to come across as spam. The topic genuinely fits both communities, though the post would be linking back to the same original discussion.

How do moderators usually judge crossposts: by the number of communities, how closely the post fits each subreddit, account history, or something else? I’d also like to know whether adding a fresh explanation for the second audience is considered better etiquette than simply reposting the link.
