# Can Biotin Supplements Interfere With Thyroid Blood Test Results?

I take a hair and nail supplement that contains biotin, and I have a thyroid blood test coming up. I’ve heard supplements can affect lab results, but I’m not sure whether that applies to the tests used to check thyroid function.

Does biotin interfere with thyroid blood tests, and if it can, should I tell the clinic or pause the supplement beforehand? I’d rather ask before changing anything, especially since the test was ordered to help guide treatment.
