# What Should I Check When First-Pass Yield Falls but Final Output Stays on Target?

Our line is still meeting its shipped-output target, but first-pass yield has slipped and the rework station is busier than it used to be. The product mix has changed a little, so I’m not sure whether this points to a process problem or just a shift in what we’re running.

When reviewing a **first-pass yield measurement**, which supporting figures help reveal the cause? I’m especially interested in how teams separate genuine process drift from changes in product mix, inspection criteria, or how rework is recorded.
