# Are Instant Clicks on Every Newsletter Link Real Engagement or Security Scans?

Our B2B newsletter sometimes records clicks on nearly every link within seconds of delivery, including the privacy policy and social icons. Several of these contacts use company email addresses, but the corresponding website visits rarely show up in analytics.

I suspect email security scanners, although I don’t want to dismiss genuine readers just because their browser blocks tracking.

## What would count as useful evidence?

- Multiple links clicked at exactly the same timestamp?
- A click recorded before an open, given that open tracking is unreliable?
- Repeated patterns across contacts at the same company?

How do other teams distinguish automated checks from human clicks without relying on a single signal? We currently use clicks for **email lead scoring**, so I’m particularly concerned about sending sales a list of people who never actually engaged.
