# Why Does My EV Slow Down Less When I Lift Off After a Full Charge?

My electric car usually slows down noticeably when I lift off the accelerator. After charging to 100%, though, the same pedal movement produces much less deceleration. I’ve also noticed something similar on cold mornings.

The brake pedal still works normally, and there are no warning messages. I’m trying to understand the relationship between **regenerative braking limits**, battery charge level, and battery temperature.

Does a full battery affect lift-off braking for the same reason as a cold battery, or are these separate restrictions? Also, do some cars automatically use friction brakes to maintain the usual one-pedal driving feel while others let the deceleration change?

I’m asking about normal operating behavior rather than a brake fault. What should I look for in the owner’s manual to understand how my particular model handles this?
