# Why Do LED Lights Create Flickering Bands in My Phone Videos?

When I record under some LED lights, my phone video shows dark or bright bands moving across the frame, even though the room looks steady to my eyes. It happens more often indoors and seems to vary from one light fixture to another.

Is this caused by the phone’s frame rate, the lights’ electrical frequency, or the camera’s rolling shutter? I’m also wondering whether changing the [camera settings](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/107500/best-camera-settings-for-landscapes) can prevent the LED flicker bands without making the video look choppy.
