# What Usually Causes Injection-Molded Plastic Parts to Warp After Cooling?

We’re seeing a slight twist in a flat injection-molded component after it comes out of the mold and cools. The dimensions are close to spec while the part is still warm, but the edges lift once it has fully cooled. It happens more often in one direction than the other.

Which process variables are worth checking first—cooling balance, packing pressure, material, or mold temperature? I’m interested in how manufacturers distinguish a molding setup issue from a part design that is simply prone to warping.
