# Why Does a CNC-Machined Part Pass Inspection Warm but Fail After Cooling?

I have a machined aluminum bracket that measures within tolerance straight off the machine, but some dimensions fall outside tolerance when we check it later at room temperature. The difference is small, yet it is enough to cause problems during assembly.

Could **inspection temperature**, part geometry, or how the workpiece is clamped during machining explain this kind of shift? I’m interested in how shops separate normal thermal movement from a process or measurement issue.
