# How Specific Should a Content Brief Be Before It Limits the Writer?

Our team uses detailed briefs to keep articles accurate and on-topic, but some drafts now sound as if the same person wrote all of them. The writers follow the requested structure closely, yet the finished pieces lose their individual voice.

How do you set useful boundaries around audience, key points, and terminology without scripting every paragraph? I’d be interested in examples of a content brief that gives writers enough direction while still leaving room for a distinctive angle and natural phrasing.
