# Can Two Pages Targeting Similar Keywords Split Organic Traffic?

I found two pages on our site that answer almost the same search query. Both get impressions, but neither seems to rank as well as I expected. Could this be **[keyword cannibalization](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/84088/how-to-identify-amp-eliminate-keyword-cannibalization-to-boost-your-seo)**, or can Google understand that the pages serve different purposes?

If you’ve dealt with this, how did you decide whether to combine the pages, change their focus, or leave them alone? I’m especially interested in what to check in Search Console before making a change.
