# How Can I Keep My Writing Voice When Using AI to Edit a Draft?

I’m experimenting with AI tools to catch clumsy sentences and tighten drafts, but the edited version often sounds smoother and less like me. It tends to replace specific phrasing with polished, generic language, even when the original was intentional.
