# Why Does My Car’s Tire Pressure Warning Stay On After I Inflate the Tires?

I checked all four tires with a gauge and brought them to the pressure listed on the driver-door sticker, but the warning light is still on after a couple of short drives. The weather has also turned colder recently, so I’m wondering whether that could affect what the car is detecting.

Does the system usually need time to update, or can a tire-pressure sensor keep reporting a problem even when the tires are correctly inflated? I’d rather understand what to check before assuming a sensor has failed.
