# Why Do Cut Avocados Brown at Different Speeds?

I’ve noticed that one cut avocado can start browning within minutes, while another stays green much longer even when I store them the same way. Is the difference mostly about ripeness, the cut surface, or how the fruit was handled before it reached the kitchen?

I’m also wondering whether common storage tricks actually slow the color change or just make the surface look better temporarily. What have you found works reliably for an avocado you plan to use later?
