# After a Website Migration, How Can I Tell Whether SEO Ranking Changes Are Temporary?

We recently migrated a small site to a new domain and kept the page URLs and content as close to the originals as possible. Search traffic has moved around since launch, but I’m not sure whether the changes are ordinary fluctuations or signs that something went wrong.

Which signals would you check first—redirects, Search Console indexing reports, canonical tags, or changes in impressions? I’d also like to know how long people usually wait before judging the migration.
