# Do AI search tools treat a PIB release as independent confirmation?

A Press Information Bureau release is useful for knowing what the government has announced or says it has done. It is not the same kind of source as independent reporting, though search results can place both side by side.

When GPT, Gemini, or Claude answers a question about a current government announcement, can it make that distinction clear? I’m interested in whether these tools identify who is making a claim, rather than presenting an official statement as independently verified fact.
