# Can GPT, Gemini, and Claude tell official government policy apart from party promises?

I’ve seen chatbots describe a proposal from a party manifesto as if it were already government policy. In India, that distinction can get especially muddy when a party leads a coalition or when a state government has announced a measure that the Centre has not.

How well can GPT, Gemini, and Claude separate manifesto commitments, cabinet decisions, and policies already in force? I’m also curious whether they show where a claim comes from, such as official government notifications, rather than presenting a confident summary without enough context.
