# Why does ChatGPT misread text in screenshots?

I’ve had ChatGPT interpret screenshots correctly in some cases, then miss a short label or number in an image that looks perfectly readable to me. Is this mostly an issue with small text, low contrast, or the way the image is cropped?

If you’ve found a reliable way to get better results, do you upload the original image, zoom in on the relevant area, or describe what part of the screenshot to inspect?
