# How reliable are Google Gemini’s citations when it summarizes long documents?

I’m considering using Google Gemini to summarize lengthy reports and research documents. A summary can sound convincing while still attaching a claim to the wrong section or missing an important qualification buried in the source.

For people who use Gemini with long documents, how do you check whether its citations actually support the statements it makes? Are there particular document types or workflows where you’ve found its references easier—or harder—to verify?
