# Is the opposition capable of forming a viable pre-poll alliance for 2026?

The INDIA bloc showed promise in 2024, yet seat allocation disputes and ideological differences have not fully disappeared. For 2026, can these parties move beyond post-poll adjustments and lock in credible pre-poll seat-sharing? The challenge is especially acute in states where both the Congress and regional outfits claim overlapping vote banks. Without a clear roadmap, the opposition risks fragmenting the anti-BJP vote once again.
