# Perplexity Pro Searches Used Up? Why Your Answers May Suddenly Be Worse

**Perplexity suddenly gave me worse answers and I noticed a message about Pro searches being used up. Is that why? Can I get more?**

Yes that's why. Pro searches dig deeper and use a better model. When you use up your daily lot, it falls back to the basic search, which is fine for quick lookups but noticeably thinner for anything involved.

You can't get more without waiting for the reset or paying for a higher plan. But you can make the basic search work harder. Ask smaller, more specific questions instead of one big one. Use the Focus filter. Ask follow-ups in the same thread rather than opening a new one, because the follow-ups keep the context.

And stop wasting Pro searches on things like "what does GST stand for". Save them for the questions that actually need five sources compared.
