# Instagram not showing likes on my posts – bug or restriction?

[Instagram](https://www.mindstick.com/category/news/instagram) sometimes hides likes because of experiments they run. They have tested a feature where [people](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2295/more-people-need-to-monitor-this-crucial-metric-for-heart-health) can’t see like counts to reduce pressure. If this is turned on, you may not see likes. Also check your settings.

Sometimes you can hide like counts on your own [posts](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1939/as-market-for-digital-collectibles-tanks-meta-linked-instagram-s-nft-posts-to-facebook) without knowing. Another reason is app bug. If your Instagram app is not updated, it may show errors like no likes, [comments](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/103/what-s-the-difference-between-comments-comments-and-comments) missing, etc.

Try updating or reinstalling the app. If your [account](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/33699/how-tech-is-disrupting-the-accounting-world) is new or flagged for spam, [Instagram may restrict some features](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301775/instagram-s-new-update-that-gives-you-more-control-over-what-you-see) temporarily, including likes. Also check your [internet](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44099/best-internet-hobby) [connection](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/123/connection-string) because sometimes posts don’t load fully, so likes don’t appear. If others can see likes but you can’t, it’s probably settings or a bug.

STEP 1. Go to settings

STEP 3. posts and check if “hide like counts” is on.

STEP 4. Turn it off if you want to see likes.

In short, it can be either a restriction by Instagram for [testing](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/101/acceptance-testing), a bug due to old app, or your own settings.\
