When huge numbers of people are forced to leave their homes, it is called displacement. War destroys houses, schools, hospitals, and roads. Many times, they walk long distances and face a lot of struggles to reach safer areas. Some families get separated on the way, and that makes it even more painful. Globally, wars create refugee problems. Refugees are people who escape their country because of war. They go to neighboring countries and live in refugee camps. This puts [pressure](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301017/blood-pressure-monitoring-at-home) on the countries that accept them, because they have to provide food, shelter, and medical help for so many extra people. Wars in one place can therefore affect many countries around the world.
