# How to delete WhatsApp backup on iPhone?

1. Open WhatsApp on your [iPhone](https://medium.com/@pharidha56/best-tips-to-edit-your-photos-on-iphone-c3aa6443c2e8).
2. Go to “ [Settings](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/99336/how-can-i-configure-gmail-imap-settings)” within [WhatsApp](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301676/how-to-sign-up-for-the-whatsapp-business-api) .
3. Tap on “Chats” and then [select](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/34066/use-select-operator-in-linq) “Chat [Backup](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/1205/what-is-the-command-to-take-backup-and-restore-for-sharepoint-site) ”.
4. Tap on “ Back Up Now ”if you haven't [backed up](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/41054/in-three-decisions-in-the-early-1800s-whose-powers-were-backed-up-by-the-supreme-court) recently ( this step ensures you have the [latest](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23264/some-of-the-latest-digital-marketing-trends) backup ).
5. Tap on “ Auto Backup” and turn it off.
6. Now , go back to the “Chat Backup ” screen and tap on “ Delete Backup”.
