# Why won't my computer recognize my graphics card?

**Ensure Proper [Installation](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/711/php-installation-on-windows):**Confirm that the [graphics](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/336067/html-graphics-using-html) card is correctly seated in the PCI Express slot on your motherboard. Ensure all power [connectors](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/279839/enrgtech-signal-application-connectors) are securely connected.

**Check Power Supply:**Graphics cards often require additional power.

**Update Drivers:**Outdated or incompatible graphics card drivers can cause recognition issues.

**BIOS/UEFI Settings:**Access your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings during [startup](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/324582/how-to-build-up-a-successful-startup-by-avoiding-these-5-mistakes) and check if the PCI Express slot is enabled. Some motherboards may allow you to select the primary graphics adapter.
