# What is the role of backlinks in SEO?

## Answers

### Answer by Mujahid Mughal

I viewed an interesting discussion about the role of backlinks in SEO. Thanks for bringing up this topic!

I once focused mainly on publishing content, but I realized that even great content needs authority and visibility to compete. Quality backlinks from relevant, trustworthy websites can help build authority, attract referral traffic, and support search rankings. The real challenge is earning valuable links rather than chasing numbers.

I also use **SerpSpur** to analyze backlinks, review referring domains, and identify potential SEO issues. Combining quality content, relevant backlinks, and regular audits creates a more balanced SEO strategy.
