[Badminton](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/300101/benefits-of-playing-badminton) is a popular racquet sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles).

## Scoring

1. Badminton [games](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13085/the-most-famous-casino-games) are typically played to 21 points, and a player or pair must win by at least two points.

**[Game](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44320/web-development-trends-that-are-changing-the-game) [Structure](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/302153/structured-vs-unstructured-data-key-differences)**

1. A standard badminton match consists of the best of three games.

2. The first side to win two games wins the match.

## Serve

1. The game begins with a serve. The player or pair serving decides whether to serve from the [left](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/2298/how-to-change-position-left-to-right-of-bootstrap-datepicker) or right service court. In the case of singles, the [server](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/710/apache-server-installation-on-windows) has both options; in doubles, the [choice](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/1090/what-is-the-difference-between-choice-and-list) of service court is decided before the start of the match.

## Scoring During a Serve

1. In singles, the server's score increases regardless of the outcome of the rally.

## Service Rotation in Doubles

1. In doubles, service is rotated between the two players on the serving side.

2. The player who serves first (the server) serves from one service court, and their partner serves the next point from the other service court.

## In and Out

1. If the shuttlecock lands inside the boundary lines, it is considered "in."

## Faults

1. A fault is a violation of the [rules](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/43901/blackjack-rules) and results in a point for the opposing side.

## Let

1. If a rally is disrupted by unforeseen circumstances, such as the shuttlecock getting caught in the [net](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/303779/how-the-restsharp-library-is-better-than-others-in-dot-net), a "let" is called, and the rally is replayed.

## Switching Sides

1. Players or pairs [switch](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/104495/switch-bringing-new-advancements-in-the-education-management-system) sides after the first game and when one side reaches 11 points in the third game (if necessary).

2. This ensures fairness, as environmental conditions, such as air circulation, can affect gameplay.

The rules ensure that matches are competitive and fair, allowing players to showcase their abilities in a controlled and structured setting.
