They believed that bathing in ganga river can clean their negativity and their past issues.

Some prayers were done also. Also Ganga River is originated from the hair of Lord Shiva because of the heavy flow. It is also the second [longest river](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/33451/what-is-the-longest-river-in-the-united-states-what-are-some-interesting-facts-about-it) in India.

In [West Bengal](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/83197/west-bengal-birbhum-violence-and-politics) it is known as hoogly. In north side it is known as Bhagirathi.

So there are so many significances of Ganga River.
