There are two main types of printers: inkjet printers and laser printers.**

**Inkjet printers** work by spraying tiny droplets of ink onto the paper. The [ink cartridges](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/108764/what-if-the-printer-won-t-recognize-ink-cartridges) contain four different colors of ink: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black **(CMYK)**. The printer mixes these colors to create a wide range of colors and shades.

**Laser printers** work by using a **laser beam** to create an image on a drum. The drum is then coated with a fine powder called **toner**. The toner particles are attracted to the charged areas of the drum and then transferred to the paper. The toner is then fused to the paper by heat.
